Mexico shows professor's prints
The Museum of Art and History in Juarez,
Mexico, is the location of a photograph display
by George Tuck, UNL associate professor of
journalism.
'Hie display, consisting of 50 color prints
made from a black and white or color negative or
American" Southwest landscapes, nudes and
"some people shots," Tuck said.
The photographs were made by a
time-consuming process in which high contrast
positives and negatives of varying densities were
made from a balck and white or color negative or
transparency. Colored light was then passed
through them onto color printing paper.
Tuck said he showed some of the prints to the
museum's director while on vacation in Juarez
during Christmas. The director "liked them very
much," he said, and invited Tuck to display
them. Tlie prints are for sale in the museum
throughi April 22.
This is the first time Tuck's work has been
shown in a foreign country. Tuck said he is not
yet a nationally recognized photographer, but
said he was named one of Nebraska's top ten
photographers in 1974.
