One of the first and best of the Jerry Lewis-Dean Martin classics. Dean has to turn frail Jerry into a sports hero. Ch. 7 8 p.m.: Walking Tall (movie, 1973). . . . and carrying a BIIGGGGG stick. Joe Don Baker as Burford Pussor in a super-violent-dumb-melodramatic-cliched film that is, however, entirely gripping. Ch. 6 and 10, 9 p.m.: Grammy Awards. 17th annual presentations for top honors in the nations recording industry. Sunday: Ch. 3, 1 p.m.: Wee Willie Winkie, (1937, movie). One of Shirley Temple's best, directed by the great John Ford. Taken from a Rudyard Kipling story, it's a remarkable view of the world through innocent Shirley's eyes as she helps stop a native uprising in India by using her dimpled negotiations. TV Aunt Hannah Ch. 12, 6:30 p.m. Nova: The Search for Life' Report on attempts to analyze life potential on Mars and other planets. Ch. 12, 7:30 p.m.: Masterpiece Theatre Vienna 1900-Games with Love and Death. Beginning a new, six part adaptation from works of Arthur Schnitzer about a widow trying to end her son's May-December romance and then finds herself in one. Ch. 7, 7:30 p.m.: The Hospital (movie, 1971). Bitter, funny satire on fickle ways of big city hospital taken from Paddy Chayevsky screenplay. George C. Scott is excellent as cynical doctor who can't fathom some of the mistakes that surround him. Ch. 3, 9 p.m.: A Shooting Gallery Called America. NBC Special Report examining the problem of the over 40 million handguns possessed legally and illegally by people in this country. Monday: Ch. 12, 7 p.m.: Carmen: The Dream and the Destiny. The tragic life of George Bizet interwoven with a look at a new production of his famous opera. Ch. 3, 12 midnight: Tomorrow. Tom Snyder interviews Rubin "Hurricane" Carter, former middleweight boxing contender who is now fighting a prison term on a murder charge. Tuesday: Ch. 12, 7:30 p.m.: Ascent of Man. The development of the theory of evolution is the focus of part 9 in this series. Wednesday: Ch. 12, 7 p.m.: Arabs and Israelis. Part 1 in "The Palestinian Question." Ch. 12, 8:00 p.m.: Right on Ramsey! Popular jazz musician Ramsey Lewis is host Mai Adam's guest. Included are films from his recent gig here in Lincoln. Ch. 10, 10:30 p.m.: The Glass House (TV movie, 1972). Excellent prison drama about a college professor (Alan Alda) who is imprisoned for manslaughter. Many of the actors are actual guards and convicts at the Utah State Prison system. Thursday: Ch. 7, 8 p.m.: Love Among the Ruins (ABC Theatre). Do not miss this. Katherine Hepburn and Sir Laurence Olivier team up for the first time in this romantic comedy set in turn-of-the-century London. Ch. 7, 10:30 p.m.: Geraldo Rivera: Good-Night America. Raquel Welch, Dick Gregory's alleged new evidence on the Kennedy Assassination, and the mysterious "Bermuda Triangle" are topics of discussion. Friday: Ch. 6, 10:30 p.m.: A Star is Born (movie, 1954). The movie of the week, this is one of director George Cukor's many fine films. It's a musical-drama about Hollywood's ups and downs and the making of a star. It features Judy Garland in one of her greatest roles as she sings "The Man that Got Away." Ch. 4 (Cable), 10:30 p.m.: Johnny Belinda (movie, 1948). Well done little drama about a poor, young mute girl and her battle against a murder charge after a rape has burdoned her with a child.
