chapter in a new six-part dramatic series taken from a
tale of French intrigue by Alexandre Dumas, who
seems to be making a comeback on film.
Ch. 7, 8 p.m.: Hustling (TV movie). To those of
you with more prurient interests (if Simon Ward isn't
enough) there's this uncompromising drama about
you-know-what on the streets of you-know-where.
Ch. 3, 9 p.m.: Entertainment Hall of Fame
Awards. All-star cast of performers will present
TV Aunt Hannah
awards and pay tribute to 10 new inductees to the
Hall of Fame (five living, five deceased).
Ch. 12 (ETV), 10 p.m.: Play of the Month: The
Withered Ami First in a series of dramas from
English novelist Thomas Hardy. This one's a
psychological thriller of wizardry and witchcraft.
Ch. 4 (cable), 1 1 p.m.: Wide World Special: It's a
Bird, It's a Plane, It's Superman. TV adaptation of
the 1966 Broadway musical, with David Wilson and
David Wayne.
Sunday:
Ch. 12 (ETV), 2:30 p.m.: Theatre in America:
Brother to Dragons. Robert Penn Warren drama

Ch. 12 (ETV), 7 p.m. Weather Machine. Special
two-hour documentary on hows and whys of the
weather and the ways man misuses the environment.
Tuesday:
Ch. 12 (ETV), 7 p.m.: Correctional Reform
Legislative Hearing. Special three-hour live broadcasts
of Legislature's Judiciary Hearing on penal reform.
Ch. 3, midnight: Tomorrow. Host Tom Snyder
talks with Jimmy Hoffa.
Wednesday:
Ch. 12 (ETV), 7 p.m.: Arabs and Israelis. Portraits
of individuals caught up in Mideast crises are once
again featured in this concluding chapter of the series.
Ch. 12 (ETV), 8:30 p.m.: Rap About It. The Rev.
Jesse Jackson talks with host Mai Adama about
economic troubles confronting the poor and
minorities.
Ch. 7, 10:30 p.m.: Wide World Special: Clark
Gable: The King Remembered. Peter Lawford (once
again) hosts this look into the real and screen life of
the large-eared lover.
Thursday:
Ch. 7, 10:30 p.m.: Wide World Special:
Homosexuals: Out of the Shadows.
Ch. 3, midnight: Tomorrow. Tom Snyder and Co.
take a look at pronography in films.
Friday: take a look at pornography in films.
Ch. 4 (cable), 10:30 p.m.: Gentleman's Agreement
(movie, 1947). Extremely well handled, conscientious
film with Gregory Peck, as a reporter who poses as a
Jew in order to gather information on anti-Semitism.
Several Oscars including one for director Elia Kazan.
'Adam's Rib' begins
at Sheldon tonight
The classic comedy team of Katharine Hepburn
and Spencer Tracy will be featured this weekend in
the Sheldon Film Theater's Women In Film Series.
The movie is Adam's Rib, a 1949 hit from director
George Cukor written by husband-wife screenwriters
Ruth Gordon and Garson Kanin. The movie replaces
Daisy Kenyon, which was originally scheduled in the
series, but will not be shown due to booking
problems.
Showings are at 3, 7 and 9 p.m. today and
Saturday at the Sheldon Gallery Auditorium.
Admission is $1.25.
