A resnlnfion calling for ASUN support for criminal justice majors who are seeking to obtain their diplomas from UNL instead of the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO), was approved at the ASUN Senate meeting Wednesday night. Presently, criminal justice majors who attend classes on the Lincoln campus receive their degrees from UNO, according to criminal justice "majors Martin Crowley and Kathy Andersen, who spoke at the meeting. ASUN President Ron Clingenpeel told the senators that, by statute, degrees are awarded by the faculty of the specific colleges involved. The criminal justice department at UNL is an outgrowth from UNO's College of Public Administration and Community Service. In other buisness, First Vice President Sharon Johnson refused to oust nine senators for non-attendance. The ASUN Constitution allows the removal of a senator for three or more unexcused absences. Johnson said that some senators don't have to attend all meetings to act as representatives while some might attend every meeting without being representative of their colleges. "I know it was a campaign issue last year, but I was a bit naive about it then," Johnson said. "I have changed my opinion since then." The nine senators having three or more absences include: Kathy Babcock, Tom Camp, Steve Eveans, Mike Jacobson, Tom Owens, Ron Ross, Julie Saterfield, Chuck Schuster and Scott Svoboda. 6:30 p.m.-Builders-Union 343 6:30 Trivia Lounge 7 p.m.-Council on Student Life-Union Pewter Room 7 p.m. -Baptist Student Union-Union Small Auditorium 7 p.m.-Epsilon Chi-Union South Conference Room 7:30 p.m. -Math Counselors-Union 225 B-C 8 p.m.-Young Republicans - "Senator Shirley Marsh"-Union 202 8 p.m. -Union Program Council "Faith Ringgold" Union Ballroom. p.m. Greek Week -Bowl -Union Main ill voyis Albert Howard RBI President & Dir. of Admit.
