FVe groups get funds
The Fee Allocations Board agreed to grant funds to
five organizations Thursday night. One decision was
delayed by the board.
The Rugby Club requested financial aid from the
board. Club representative R.J. Neary said, "The
players have been absorbing most of the costs so far."
He asked that the board allocate money to the club to
buy equipment and uniform for its two teams.
The board agreed to give the club $400 for
equipment. They also approved $200 for uniforms to be
allocated when the club matched that amount.
The Student Bar. Assoc. was given $500 toward their
Minority Recruitment Program. The board stipulated,
however, that the law college would be a better source
of money in the future.
The Graduate Student Assoc. was appropriated $400
for the publication of their newsletter. The board said
that the association cannot receive the money until they
are recognized as a student organization.
The UNL Ski Club original request for $800 last week
was cut to $150 by the board. The approved budget will
be used by the club for publicity and to bring in a
speaker.
Engineering College received $900 to sponsor a
speaker during E-Week next April.
A final decision on Outreach's proposal will not be
finalized until Sunday. Outreach, the UNL help line,
had requested fees from the board last week in order to
raise the salaries of their 24 employes. They also hoped
to increase advertising. The board will act on the
proposal after a question in the .budget proposal has
been clarified.
