The goals and purposes of the UNL Residence Hall Association (RHA) were discussed at their meeting Thursday night in Piper Residence Hall. Tim Evensen, president, said RHA "has a lot of potential," but that its priorities need to be reevaluated and restated, so the UNL student can identify with the organization and better use it. The twenty students present discussed RHA's existence, purpose and functions with Ken Swerdlow, assistant director of housing, and Glen Schumann, coordinator for the residence hall administration. RHA's next meeting they will include a discussion of organization's priorities, Evensen said. The priorities discussed at Thursday's meeting included increasing communication between the housing office and residents and between the individual residence halls. Another priority considered was that RHA should provide services to residents including receiving complaints, supplying appliances and sponsoring social functions. Common Cause member Larry Doerr spoke to RHA concerning this group, a citizen lobbying organization with 500 members in the first congressional district. He said he would gladly speak to any group of residents concerning the organization.
