Bryan home featured
Continued from pg. 1
"There have been no complaints concerning this
show, and that is almost unheard of in TV," said Otto.
He added that the programs have received many
compliments.
After their television runs, the programs are
available at no cost to schools, civic groups and other
organizations for nonprofit showings through Van Sant
Dugdale, he said.
Otto estimated the cost of the series to UiJFU, from
filming to airing, runs just under one million dollars a
year.
According to Otto. USFG is interested in the series
"because it reflects the highest ideals of America."
Marshall was selected from a list of 100 stars to
narrate the American Life Style Series because of his
credibility, stature, availability and affordabiliiy, Otto
said.
Marshall said he believes in the series and is proud of
being associated with it.
Best known for his starring roles in "The Defenders"
and "The Bold Ones," Marshall is currently the host of
the CBS Radio Mystery program.
Bryan, a former Nebraska congressman and one-time
secretary of state, was a three time candidate for the1
presidency. He failed each time. According to a placque
in front of Fairview, Bryan was "universally known ae
the great commoner." He was also prosecuting1
attorney in the 1925 "Monkey Trial," in which Johr4
Scopes was convicted of teaching evolution in 2
Tennessee school.
Correction...
One member of the program on the world food
crisis Tuesday night was inadvertently left out of
the story in Wednesday's Daily Nebraskan.
Marian Staples was also on the panel. She
represented CROP, a branch of the Church World
Services which provides 30 overseas countries
with food and clothing.
