Jimi Hendrix giving Buddy Miles a drum lesson. Do-chuka-chu-chaka-chu. An impersona tion of Bogart. Do-chukado-chu. Loose ends. You bet. But they all add up to a very interesting, if not entertaining, album by the late Jimi Hendrix. , . "Loose Ends" is a collection of jams and half-finished songs that Hendrix recorded with Mitch Mitchell of the Experience and Buddy Miles . and Billy Cox of Band of Gypsies. The album, recorded during the last half of 1969 and early 1970, reflects a period when Hendrix was experimenting with different styles and extreme frustration. With the exception of "Start That Play With Laughing Sam's Dice", which was recorded in 1966 and never released in the United States, the album has only one other complete song, "Drifter's Escape" by Bob Dylan. "Loose Ends" can't be judged as an album per , se. While choppy and floating in many places, the record provides an interesting insight into a man who left a great musical legacy behind him. It may seem like crumbs, but it all adds up and is most satisfying indeed. If you find yourself with nothing to do tonight, head on down to the Zoo.
