some of themselves helping other
people help themselves.
Whatever you do. there's something
you can do to help other people; Even
if it's only for a few hours a week. The
pay is nothing, but the rewards are '
fantastic.
There's a desperate need for your
skills whatever they are. If you can
type. Tutor. Drive. Phone, Anything.
You're needed. Right in your own home
town.

Youth programs in

and Boys State (by the
American Legion), Neb
raska Conference of
Youth, Nebraska Student
Council workshop, and
football, basketball, golf
and hockey schools.
Many switched to Uni
versity housing when the
State University of Neb
raska (SUN) program took
over the youth wing of the
Nebraska Center for Con

and board for a five-week
session, Schumann said.
Youth groups pay $6.75 a
person per day for room
and board, he said.

ventions pay $7.50 a day
for the room. Schumann
said they may buy indi
vidual meais at the dormi
tory cafeteria or eat else
where. ,
Many, like the security
system, he said. Student
guards, supervised by
Campus Security, watch
dormitory doors between
midnight and 6 am. No
one without a dormitory
room key is allowed in, he
said.
There are problems for
the University, though,
Schumann said. Rising
costs are one.
Also, convention spon
sors often overestimate
attendance. For example,
Schumann said the Gem
and Mineral Show spon
sors asked the University
to reserve 600 rooms.
