SUN classes beginning A new course of study produced by S-U-N, Accounting 1 will offer to Nebraskans a college-at-home equivalent to university-level introductory accounting. S-U-N students will study financial reports for businesses from the large corporation to the individually owned business. They will learn about types of financial information necessary , for sound business planning, as well as the procedures for financial statement preparation. The course was chosen as one of S-U-N's first because of the high ranking it received in S-U-N's several market surveys, which sought opinions from citizens who said they would be interested in enrolling in college-at-home courses. The resident content, con sultant is Pierre h. Titard, a Lincoln campus accounting professor, and the producer is Marshall Jamison, a nationally known television producer and director. Richard W. George said credit for both courses, as well as for other courses under development, will be offered through the appropriate departments of the University of Nebraska campuses. As such, said George, the credit will be readily transferable to other colleges in Nebraska and in other states. It will introduce the student to general psychological theory through study of a dozen contemporary experimental ex amples, ranging from argu ments on school busing to study of the effect of environment on intelligence. Among study materials will be readings and films by the publishers of 'Psychology Today." Psychology was chosen as a S U N course because it, too, ranked high on market surveys.
