- w r Magrath C. Peter Magrath, former dean of the college of Arts and Sciences, vice chancellor for academic affairs and interim chancellor at UNL, was named Monday to head the sprawling University of Minnesota system. Magrath, 40, will be ' one of the nation's youngest presidents of a major university. Currently, he is president of the State University of New York at Binghamton, a job he took after leaving UNL in 1972. Magrath is expected to assume the presidency by Oct. 1, His domain will include five campuses and almost 50,000 rfjv contemporary productions, inc.
