1 M Busy CSL speeds th mm WVI t V g J tVliUi lO The Council on Student Life (CSL) Thursday sped through five motions in less than an hour in its busiest show of hands in a meeting this year. CSL voted to establish an ad hoc committee to evaluate the UNL Ombudsman's Office and to retain the one-hour election eligibility rule. The council defeated a motion that CSL at this time make recommendations for the future use of the Coliseum once the fieldhouse at the state fairground is complete and a motion to add a new matter of business to the agenda. A motion to not hold its regular meeting next week was approved by voice vote and later reconsidered pending the outcome of the regents' meeting Saturday concerning the Differentiated Housing Report which It to go before the regents then. , , The defeated motion, introduced by CSL member Dennis Martin, to add new business to the agenda concerned the regents's meeting and the Differentiated Housing Report. Martin moved that CSL express its concern that the regents jointly consider the housing report and the UNL Housing Office's request for a $75 raise in residence hall rates next year because they both relate to a common problem, low dormitory occupancy rate (84 per cent this semester). Because the matter was not scheduled on the meeting's agenda, he moved that it be accepted as new business. The motion failed 4-7. In other business, CSL approved a draft establishing the makeup and purposes of a committee to evaluate the UNL Ombudsman's Off ice. The one-hour rule, up for annual review by the CSL, also was approved. The rule states that a UNL student only has to be taking one hour of class credits to run for student organization office.
