The rule concerns . the" minimum number of hours a student must carry to be eligible to run for a UNL student office. UNL adopted a rule two or three years ago which stated that as long as a student was carrying one credit hour, the student was eligible for a student office. Ely Meyerson, CSL member and UNL daan of administration, said that one hour was set as a minimum with the added stipulation that organizations could set their own requirement for the minimum number of hours a member had to be registered for. The rule came up for review by CSL, but discussion was discontinued until more information could be obtained about whether any problems have arisen with student officer holders not being responsive to the UNL community because they only carried one credit hour. After acting on a student' request, CSL received a response from Miles Tommeraasen, UNL vice chancellor for business and finance, about the future use of tha Coliseum once the new Fieldhouse on the state fairgrounds is completed. Tommeraasen said the Coliseum still is being considered for use as either a combined facility for men's and women's physical education or as a performing arts building. pags 2 daily ncbraskan friday, march 1, 1974
