Lincoln was covered by a 10-inch blanket of snow by Wednesday morning. For many persons it meant being late for work or missing it altogether. But for UNL students who had either a 7:30 or 10 a.m. final exam that day, tfw storm resulted in final exam cancellations and, in many rases, delayed the make-up exams for almost a month. Ned Hedges, UNL assistant vice chancellor for Academic Affairs, said the cancelled exams will be made up during the second semester's first week of regular classes. He said the 7:30 a.m. make-up exam will be Jan. 16 between 7-9 p.m., and the 10 a.m. make-up is scheduled for 7-9 p.m. on Jan. 17. Students should contact their instructors or a department chairman for specific room numbers and times, he said. Hedges said delaying final tests for a month dees cause problems for both the student and instructor, but that the administration has been working to find an "equitable solution" for both sides. He said he believ? the new arrangement is fair to both parties. Arrangements were to have been made between grac3watirg seniors and their teachers to eliminate any unnecessary delays in graduation, he said. "We asked instructors to make individual arrangements with students not returning for the second semester. "This included not only graduating seniors but transfer student jis well," Hedges said. He said he has not heard any complaints in relation to the make-up exams. VJv , COS .
