to UNL S t 3' J? 4 :. , v Culture creeps By John Russnogle Culture will be creeping into Nebraska this semester via films, speakers and musicians scheduled by the Nebraska Union Program Committee and Sheldon Art Gallery. The Union will host a variety of programs and Dan Ladely, Sheldon Film Theater director, has scheduled five film series. One of the largest events sponsored by the Union will be the Model United Nations, Feb. 7-9. Participants from several states will ' attend and speakers from the United Nations are scheduled. The Union Talks and Topics committee is sponsoring Frances "Sissy" Farenthold, the number two vote-getter for the Democratic vice-presidential nomination at the 1072 parly convention. Farenthold is now chairperson of the National Women's Political Caucus. Site will speak Feb. 26 on "Women and Politics". During the week of Feb. 25-Mar. 1 a number of women's programs, including panels, films and career consultation opportunities will be sponsored by the Student Affairs sub-Committee of the Chancellor's Commission on the Status of Women. The week of activities, planned to coincide with Farmhold's speech, is being planned by several student groups. The Human Potentials Committee is planning a second series of speakers on parapsychology, paraphysics and related topics. The speakers will be scheduled for March and April. The Union Talks and Topics and Black Activities Committee will co-sponsor Black poetess Nikki ( West Coast band to play in Crib The South Bay Express from San Fransisco will give a free concert from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. today in the Nebraska Union South Crib. The group was formed in San Francisco three years ago and recently has been playing Colorado ski areas. It opens tonight for two weeks at Little Bohemia.
