While German declined to comment on all of the cases he discussed, he said one involved advice on a contract and another concerned a "minor traffic violation". "Generally, students' first reactions seemed to be a stat of confusion about what they could do about their problem," he said. "When they left, they knew where they were; they felt they knew what choices were open, and what they could do about them," he said. German said he expects the cases students bring in will form a recognizable pattern after some time. With Hamilton he said he hopes to prepare some educational material such as pamphlets to help students in routine cases "Our main thrust will he preventative law, like information on how to negotiate a lease with a landlord," he said. "I think we'll come up with more ideas than we have the time and money to do." He said he views the LASO program as an education..i! experience, and ASUN F trot Vice President Maik Hoeiiri agreed. Hoeger said that initially, while the student attorneys are not booked up with appointments, they will be mapping out procedures for advising students.
