Senate group to interview for court A search for students to fill the currently non-existant student court is to begin under the direction of the ASUN Senate Appointments Committee. The committee was charged with interviewing applicants for the positions upon adoption of a resolution introduced by Sen. David Thurber at the senate's Wednesday meeting. The student court is the judiciary branch of the senate, which has the power to rule on the interpretation of the ASUN constitution, the internal structure of the senate or organizations subject to senate approval. The court was to have been appointed by former ASUN President Bruce Bcecher's administration (1972-73) prior to last spring's ASUN elections. The Appointments Committee is to give its recommendations to President Ann Henry. Henry must place the names before the senate, which must vote by a two-thirds majority to accept the nominations. In other action, the senate voted to approve nominations to the University Judiciary. Under the discipline code approved by CSL and ASUN, the University Judiciary takes the place of the Student Tribunal. Those appointed: Greg Chase, Jed Buechler, Jane Erdenbeigor and Jack Lawless. The appointments are for one year. Dr. Samuel I. Fuenning, executive medical director of the University Health Center, spoke before the senate. He explained how the health center uses student fees and requested the senate's aid in determining how the health center might better serve students. In response to senators' questions on the quality of health care and thu speud with which services are rendered, Fuenning repeatedly made reference to what he said was "totally inadequate" space available in the present health center. "The present building was designed for a student population of 10,000. Now we are required to take care of double that number in the same facility," he said. It was incorrectly stated in the Nov. 9 issue of the Daily Nebraskan that Sen. Ruth Spencer has one excused and three uncxcuccd absents. She has three excused absences and one unexcused.
