TRECK PHOTOGRAPHIC INC. 477-3702 FIRST LINCOLN SHOWING Janus Films presents I m a film DAILY AT: 1:30-3:20 5:10-7:10 9:10 in color by FrancoU Truffaut TWO ENGLISH GIRLS from French director Francois Truffaut is a beautiful film that was hailed as "a gem" by the New York Times and "a film of refined intelligence" by the New York Daily News. Based on the only other novel by the author of JULES AND JIM, TWO ENGLISH GIRLS follows the story of two sisters in love with the same man for seven years and his vacillation between them. To create this beautiful movie Truffaut has assembled artists with whom he works superbly well: Jean-Pierre Leaud, the "Antoine Doinel" of THE 400 BLOWS, STOLEN KISSES and other films; Nestor Almendros, photographer of many Truffaut films including THE WILD CHILD; Jean Gruaultjruffaut's co scenarist on JULES AND JIM, and Georges Delerue, composer of the scores for JULES AND JIM, SHOOT THE PIANO PLAYER and other Truffaut films. Together, these talents have created in TWO ENGLISH GIRLS a film that Newsweek calls "slyly comic, elegiac, bittersweet." "Two English Girls' is a masterpiece" LIFE MAGAZINE "A Gaw Y'rmm Trafaat. This message has been greeting students using the newly opened east-west passage through the construction work north of Love Library. The sicm was placed by the George Cook Co. because there is a danger of falling materials which could injure people using the walkway, according to Bill Wood, construction foreman. He also informed the library not to reopen the north doors but to continue using the south doors. Associate Director of Libraries for Public Services Eugene M, Johnson said that the south doors were closed for several reasons. One reason for the closing was financial. Two book checkers were necessary to handle the traffic at the south entrance where only one is needed to check at the north entrance. With the north entrance open many students are able to go directly into the library auditorium instead of going through check stations, Johnson said. Johnson explained that aside from the library uses, the university considers an east-west passage important to the campus. In case someone is injured in the walkway by falling materials, Johnson said, the construction company would Ix; liable "no matter how many signs they put up."
