page 8 The Board of Regents Saturday authorized the Union to spend $150,000 on repairs and replacement. The Board also voted to accept the Library-Science Building at Hiram Scott College before July 1 and to delay acceptance of the remainder of the Scottsbluff campus until a governor's investigating committee can make its report. They approved a report on equalized fringe benefits for faculty and staff. The benefit plan provides for a University contribution of six per cent of all salaries and wages for academic and professional staff, four and one-half per cent for office and service employes and two and one-half for employes covered by federal government pension benefits. The University also will contribute $15 monthJy toward group hospitalization and $5 monthly toward group life insurance. The Regents also approved the formation of a new School of Life Sciences which eliminates the departments of botany, microbiology and zoology and modifies the biochemistry and nutrition department. J.M. Daly will be the interim director of the school. Numerous appointments The Board also made numerous appointments: Roy Arnold as chairman of the food science and technology department. Adam Breckenridge as acting director of the libraries. Richard Fleming as director of public relations. Raymond Haagh as associate dean of the College of Arts and Sciences to fill the vacancy created when John Robinson became chairman of the English department. Ned Hedges as assistant vice chancellor of academic affairs. Roger Massey as interim dean of the College of Architecture and the chairman of the department of community and regional planning. John Ritchie as director of scholarships and financial aids. Additional appointments Herbert Schliesser as interim director of the Barkley Memorial Center for speech and hearing. Ronald Smith, 35, as dean of the College of Business Administration. He is currently serving as chairman of the department of communication and organizational behavior, General Motors Institute in Flint, Michigan. Miles Tommerassen as vice chancellor for business and finance from director of business and finance. Vernon Williams, Jr. as director of the counseling office. James Rawley as chairman of the history department The Board also accepted the resignation of Norman Cromwell, vice president for graduate studies and research.
