The Union rates are 15 cents cheaper than most city alleys, according to Pat Scanlon, Union names and recreation advisor. The Union vv.s forced to niso the price of a line of bo'.vlnj five cents, after the ?nd of second semester to 45 cents a line during the day and 50 cents a line after 6 p.m., but most city lanes charge 60 cents durinq the day and 65 cents in the evening, Scvinlcn said. There die ten lanes of open bowling from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays, except for Tuesday and Wednesday nights, he said. During the regular school year the alley works on a first-come first -?rve basis, but Scanlon said, during the summer reservations will be accepted. Scanlon said he would organise as many student leagues as desired. He also said the alley gives lower rates to groups. Also available in the lower level of the Union are pool and snooker tables, air hockey games, foosball, shuff elloard and other games of skill. On August 2 the games area will close for remodeling. There will be new carpet in the bowling and billiard aieas, new seating, telescore units, 100 new lockers and new drapes. "And the lanes will be resurfaced, but everything will be ready for first semester," be said. One Nebraska career record was broken during the recently completed 1973 baseball season and one season record was tied. Bob Munson, a senior from Bradford, Vt., broke Bob Cerv's 23-year-old record of 18 doubles hit from 194 -bU oy slashing out 19 two-baggers. As a junior, Munson set a new Husker season fielding percentage record of .991. But Lincoln junior Sam Sharpe, son of baseball coach Tony Sharpe, committed only two errors in 234 chances this spring to tie Munson 's mark. G.E. Carry Cool Portable Air Conditioners. $99.00.
