Roov. t K reck low, journalism major, won the ROTC award
v n h.s 3.627 average. Mathematics major and football player
. ..! Mjson vvon the athletic award with his 3.132 average.
Hui. rj tne senior women was Marilyn Johnson,
.Tijrn'marics major, who has a 4.067 average. Highest overall
.iv.'i'jqe was recorded by senior male winner Ronald Aerni,
rnem.'cal engineering major. He has a 4.072 average.
Superior scholarship awards went to 263 seniors who
ranked n the upper three per cent of their college or who have
b en on the honors list since their freshman year. A number of
students in all classes were recognised for high scholarship.

Banjo pickin' rodeo top Western Week festivities
Some banjo pickin' and a rodeo
will be featured events at Western
Week, sponsored this week by the East
Campus Union. Although wintry
weather forced postponement of
outdoor games and a barbeque
scheduled for today, the events have
been tescheduled for next Wednesday
at 2:30 p.m.
But those events were just a few of
the Western Week activities on East
Campus.
As one of the newer events at
UNL, Western Week has retained
inteiest and support while interest in
other traditions like Ivy Day and the
yearbook has dropped in recent years.
An addition to this year's activities
is a free bluegrass conceit by Bill
Monroe and the Bluegrass Boys and
the Bluegrass Crusaders. The concert
will be held Friday evening in the East
Campus Activity Building, according
to Jinger Jorgensen, co-chairman of
Western Week.
Jorgensen said that Western Week
will by to attract more City Campus
students. "It has been hard to get
them out in the past," she said

8 p.m.-Free bluegrass concert-East
Union,
8 p.m - Rodeo-State Fairgrounds
Coliseum.
Saturday
2 p.m.- Hodeo- State Fairgrounds.
