Grice earns
RHA victory
Carolyn Grice was elected
president of the Residence Hall
Association in elections held
Tuesday, according to Richard
Veed, RHA election
commissioner. Gail Watson was
elected vice president.
The 1,606 votes cast in
Tuesday's election represented
35 per cent of the eligible
voters, Veed said. Grice and
Watson received 876 votes
Dennis LaVelle and O.K. Roe
received 157 and a write-in
campaign produced 470 vot"s
for Blaine Osterman and Sue
Overing, Veed said.
Grice has proposed that:
the RHA treasurer be
responsible for renting
refrigerators to students;
SAs be evaluated twice a
year and evaluations be iiiven
to residence hall directois
(RD's).
RHA work closer with
ASUN to improve parking and
parking lots on campus.
salaries of both the
president and vice president be
reduced and the money saved
be paid to the treasurer.
The election also approved
the new constitution which
clarifies who are RHA
representatives, voting
procedure and the eligibility of
candidates.
