itate page 8 Bus shuttles between campuses Three times each weekday a handful of students and faculty members gather on the corner near Andrews Hail and shuttle between Omaha, by bus. According to Eileen Dort, cashier at the UNL Bursar's Office, the van leaves Lincoln at 9 a.m., 10:50 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and stops in Omaha at UNO and the NU Medical Center. Students and faculty members who wish to use the shuttle bus service may purchase a ticket at the Cashier's window in the Administration building. A student ticket costs S1 for those who are registered for classes in both Lincoln and Omaha. Other students may purchase a stand-by ticket for SI, which will be refunded if there isn't enough room. A faculty ticket costs SI. 50. There apparently is sufficient space for most passengers this semester according to Bob Cunning, supervisor of the Campus Mailing Service. Instead, the students will be released only to an attorney-the procedure currently used by citizens other than students. According to Gail Gade, director of Campus Security and Traffic, the policy of turning students over to campus police gave students a "privileged status." Because Campus Security guaranteed a student's appearance in couit, the student did not need an attorney. "Our force was satisfied with the old procedure (of releasing arrested students to Campus Security)," Lincoln Police Chief Joe Carroll said Under the old procedure, Campus Security had about eight to 10 students released to its custody each week, Gade said. "This created a real time consumption problem (for the UNL force)," he added. In a letter to Gade, Canon stated that the Office of Student Affairs authorizes changes in procedure for arrested students "to eliminate vestiges of in loco parentis practices that are inconsistent with institutional policy." In the letter, Canon also stated that, effective today, minor students found in possession of alcohol can be arrested by Campus Security and turned over to civil authorities. Campus Security officers previously referred those students to the Office of Student Affairs. daV.Night.Mac0eSs 12th STREET GARAGE In the GLASS MENAGERIE 1) Special Attraction-D.J. Louis D.
