Muniz, ambassador to the U.S. from Argentina, in a news conference at the Nebraska Union. "It is composed of many countries and each country is different." According to Muniz, who is also with the University of La Plata, this is going to be one of the most important aspects to be covered in a symposium concerning United States-Argentine relations scheduled for Oct. 4-5 at UNL. Professors from various universities in the United States will take part in the symposium, as well as Argentine scholars and specialists, according to an announcement made by the Embassy of the Argentine Republic. UNL was chosen for the symposium, Muniz said, because of its well-known Latin American Studies Department and also because he has connections with UNL, particularly with Dr. Roberto Esquenazi-Mayo, director of the Institute for International Studies. Muniz discussed current events such as the meat crisis, Argentina's elections and economic relations. 'The money situation in Argentina is much better than it was last year," he said. While at UNL, Muniz also presented the Institute of International Studies with a complete set of slides and records of Argentina to be used in classrooms at the University.
