Duke Snyder introduced LB 94 which would appropriate $729,000 to improve the fieldhouse and football field on the UNO campus. Snyder said he wants to improve the fieldhouse so it can be used for graduation and other activities. Cuni'iitly, UNO has no place for band piactice, ROTC diills or intramural activities, he said. Snyder said the bill will also improve physical education facilities "not only for students but for the community." Another Snyder-introduced bill would repeal the "Indian bounty", or payment to counties for jailed Indians. Although he does not oppose subsidising counties which house Indian prisoners, Syder said when the state put on an arbitrary quota on imprisonment, it opened hunting season on Indians. The 1973 Legislature has a long haul ahead of it, if the early controversies are any indicator. And if this session is like those in the past, it may be a long DO days. i
