Harry Canon directed a motion to CSL's student organizations subcommittee based on suggestions by cultural affairs staffers, who attended at last week's meeting. The student organizations subcommittee will draw upon a model regulation permitting students and individuals who are not part of the University to have access to UNL facilities for educational programming. Cannon disagreed with CSL member Ely Meyerson's contention that the main reason for limiting UNL facility use to campus organizations was lack of such facilities. Meverson also said the Student Affairs office had studied the question aad..tbat precedent had been set for opening facilities .... community. He said the Friends of the Arts Committee was given limited access to UNL facilities for concerts. The results of CSL member Terry Braye's investigation into parking resulted in the formation of a CSL study committee on the issue. IVieyerson said that in light of the other studies done on the parking problem, possibly a CSL committee wasn't appropriate. He asked lh council ,if possjbly a deeper study should be to University experts in the fields of financing and engineering, ynuwever ine council rejected tnat position.
