LAL w s?ow Audubon films Leading naturalists will personally present five wild-life color motion picture programs during the Audubon Wildlife Films Series to be shown at UNL. The films will be shown in the Love Library Auditorium at 8 p.m., and are sponsored by the University Extension Division, the University of Nebraska State Museum and National Audubon Society. The schedule of films: Oct. 25 "Sky lland: Arizona' Chiricahua Mountain Range" with Robert Fultz, who has photographed its varied wildlife, vegetation ana climate. Nov. 22-"Journey in Time" with Robert W. Davison, a filmed look at one of the most spectacular monuments In the world, the Grand Canyon, its majestic beauty, ecology and history. Jan. 29-"Scandinavian Saga" with John Douglas Bulger, who captures on film the wildlife, the city sights and the people of this area of Europe. Feb. 23-"Outback Australia" with Eben McMillan is an adventure in the land "down under", with close study of the red kangaroo, koala bear and many other birds and animals. March 23-"Enchanted Galapagos" with Robert E. DeLoss features fascinating sequences on Galapagos tortoises, the swallow-tailed gull, Darwin's finches and the masked and blue-footed boobies. Programs like NOVA expand WASH I NGTON -Despite discontinuing the NOVA (Nebraska Opportunity for Volunteer Action) program at the University, the federal government has announced plans to expand similar programs at other universities. Joe Blatchford, director of the citizen service corps ACTION, said an additional 350 college students will be able to earn academic credit while working in community poverty projects this school year. Blatchford said ACTION hopes to expand the year-old pronram from 24 colleges to 34 hy Feb. 1, 1973. AFT urges bylaws adoption The UNL chapter of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), Monday passed a resolution urging the NU Board of Regents to adopt the proposed University bylaws as submitted by the Commission on Governance of the University. The federation also voted to attempt to convene a special session of the Faculty Senate if the bylaws are rejected, substantially amended or not acted upon within a "reasonable amount of time." In other action, President Sing-nan Fen reported that the AFT Executive Council had met with Chancellor James Zumberge about salary requests, but that no action had been taken. The federation has proposed a 5' per cent across-the-board salary increase for the 1973-74 term, plus adoption of a minimum salary scale. The University of Nebraska at Omaha already has such a scale.
