tenseness, he said: relaxing
muscle groups can help
students to reduce anxiety.
Many students experience
exam nerves and corresponding
, physical symptoms, but
student health has not
experienced a surge of patients
during finals, according to
psychiatric nurse Carol Helm.
Many who come up to dead
week are not sure how to deal
with anxiety, but after that
week, finals are a reality that
patients must deal with, Helm
said.
Health center personnel
help students consider the
possiblity of failure and make
realistic plans for the future.
Crisis health aids, 472-2200,
also help students consider
alternatives, Helm said.
