Voting on the proposal was tied and action was deferred. Then Regent Kermit Wagner of Schuyler proposed that the Omaha firm of Stan Howell and associates be named for the final plannine. "Never has a Lincoln firm done a job in Omaha," Schwartzkopf said. "I can't believe it." The vote on the Omaha firm was also tied. Later in the meeting, after the board had gone into executive session, the matter was reconsidered and the Lincoln firm was named for the job. IN OTHER ACTION the Board accepted the resignation of Medical Center Chancellor Dr. Cecil L Wittson effective Feb. 1, 1972. Wittson came to the Medical Center as an instructor in 1950 and has served in the top capacity there since 1964. Haze L. Pope was named by the Board to the position of Coordinator of Minority Affairs in the Office of Student Affairs at UNL. The Board moved Pope to the new job from coordinator of special re-vHO" and appointed Albert Gringnon, P -pe former assistant, as director-in-training of the special services program. Pope's job will be to develop and evaluate minority affairs programs at UNL, help make students and the Lincoln community aware of the programs and serve as a program consultant.
