The holiday celebration which is sponsored -by the East Union, has become a traditional event since a fir tree was presented by the Nebraska Association of Nurseyman a number of years ago. The tree is located west of C. Y. Thompson Library. In addition to the lighting ceremony, a short program will feature remarks by Dean E. F. Frolik of the College of Agriculture and Dr. Virginia Trotter, Dean of the College of Home Economics. An East Campus choral group, directed by Mrs. Adelaide Spurgin will sing carols at the ceremony. The East Union will sponsor a chile feed in the East Union basement immediately after the lighting festivities. Children East Campus offers concert The Christmas season will come to life in song at the Choraliers and Choristers of the University of Nebraska's East Campus present their annual Christmas Concert Sunday, Dec. 12, at 2:30. According to chorus director Mrs. Adelaide Spurgin, the concert will be held in the East Campus Union and will be followed by a tea arranged by the Ceres Club of Lincoln. The program includes a variety of traditional Christmas carols as well as selections by popular composers such as Burt Bacharach. The chorus will also sing several songs from Handel's "Messiah". Mrs. Spurgin emphasized that the concert was open to public free of charge. TWO o of the faculty will also be entertained at a Christmas party.
