PACE. . . Continued from page 1 low-income whites, he said. IF THE $33,000 is correct, the extra money will be used to improve the aid packages already awarded under PACE, Lundak said. The extra funds will be used to increase awards and to supplement loans if the student's work load is too high, he added. The PACE money this semester will be added to the $3,500 contributed by second session summer students, Pedersen said. The PACE committee is asking for contributions from businessmen and will seek a greater commitment from the state, she said, since student funds can't help all 722 low-income students registered this semester. A FACULTY FUND drive will begin in November with a letter from NU Pres. D. B. Varner and interim Chancellor C. Peter Magrath urging personel to contribute, Pedersen said. A statement from ASUN asking faculty to contribute on a payroll deduction plan will be sent in December, she said. The PACE plan was approved by the Board of Regents on a one-year trial basis, Pedersen said. However, the "very, very good showing" this fall indicates that the committee can justly ask for a contination of the program, she said. Monday, Oct. 18 3:30 p.m., Nebraska Union-English Dept.
