Bicycle ride planned Sunday
A bicycle ride to raise funds
for the Lancaster County
Easter Seal Society is planned
this Sunday at 1 p.m.
The ride, sponsored by the
Arnold Air Society and Angel
Flight of the University of
Nebraska, is to help provide
speech and hearing therapy for
children through a University

Funds will also go to aid in
the purchase of hearing aids
and help provide day camp
experiences for handicapped
children next summer.
Open to ail members of the
community, the ride will begin
at the Student Union, travel to
Greenwood and return to the
University, a distance of 38
miles. Return transportation
from Greenwood will be
available.
Interested University
students should obtain
registration forms from any
dorm switch-board office or at
the second floor of the Military
and Naval Sciences Building.
Riders then enlist friends,
neighbors or businesses to sign
as sponsors, promising a certain

Committee looks
into pblicTeV
At a retreat last weekend,
ASUN's Human Rights
Committee decided to look
into the University's hiring
policies to determine if they
discriminate against minority
groups, gay people and women,
said chairman Ann Pederson.
Other committee projects
include attempts to obtain
more University married
student housing to free housing
for Lincoln's low-income
families, she said, and the
expansion of the PACE
low-income scholarship
program.
The committee will attempt
to gain a larger commitment
from the state for scholarship
for low-income students,
Pederson added.
