T8 DAILY NEBRASKAN
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 9, 1971
Spotlights played through
the particularly smokv air of
Pershing Auditorium Friday
night, alternately lighting the
stage and sweeping over the
audience. About 4,000 rock
afficionados jammed together to
enjoy the four-hour show.
Rosie and The Rockets, a
local group, warmed up the
crowd with a short set of fifties
rock 'n roll. The night's second
act, Ballin' Jack, brought the
crowd to its feet with a
combination of hard rock and
jazz.
Sugarloaf kept up the hard
pace during their short set and
left the stage to Quicksilver.
The San Francisco-based
quintet let the crowd lay back
a little to enjoy their special
brand of country-rock. There
seemed to be few dissenting
voices among those who
crowded into the Auditorium
for the concert.
