University students in
Mortar Board and Innocents
senior honoraries- are making
final plans for the 82nd
observance of Ivy Day which
begins at 10 a.m. Saturday
north of Love Library.
President Joseph Soshnik
will present a special tribute to
members of Mortar Board and
Innocents during the halftime
at the spring football game
Saturday afternoon in
Memorial Stadium. Present and
new members of both
honoraries will be presented at
that time.
Here is the complete
schedule of events:
9:45 - Carillon Chimes,
Selections by the Collegiate
Band under the direction of
Jack Snider.
10 a'.m. - Ivy Day begins, John
Robinson, associate dean of
the College of Arts and
Sciences, master of
ceremonies.
10:05 a.m. - Welcome, Ivy Day
Tradition, Russell Brown,
dean for student
development. Planting of
the ivy-Julie Marolf,
president of Mortar Board
and Ken Wald, president of
Innocents.
10:20 a.m. - Entrance of the
Ivy and DAisy Chains, Ivy
Day Court, Maid of Honor,
May Queen.
10:50 a.m. - Presentation of
awards to the recipient of
the highest women's average
and the Dean Helen Snyder
Scholarship.
11 a.m. - Masking of Mortar
Boards.
11:30 a.m. - Tackling of
Innocents.

Kimball dedication
Internationally famous conductor Robert Shaw, currently
conductor of the Atlanta, Ga., Symphony Orchestra,
helped dedicate Kimball Recital Hall Thursday night by
conducting the University Singers and Orchestra. Further
dedication festivities are slated for Friday at 3:30 p.m. with a
Far Eastern Music concert and 8 p.m. Friday with Eugene
Istomin in a piano concert. There will be Electronic Music and
the Moog Synthesizer at 3 p.m. Saturday. And Saturday at 8
p.m. Boris Goldovsky will speak on "Bringing Opera to Life,"
and there will be a performance of "The Old Maid and the
Thief"-aII part of the dedication ceremonies which make the
NU School of Music one of the best-housed facilities in the
country.
