Results of the referendum,
however, are to be used by the
Board of Regents in only an
advisory way; the vote will
have no official effect.
However the results of the
referendum on the low-income
scholarship program will be
binding. The Board of Regents
at a recent meeting promised
to implement the program
chosen by students in the
Spring Flection.
The Regents Committee
Plan for low income
scholarships, which would
allow each student to pay an
additional S3. 50 for low
income scholarship on his
tuition and fees payment if the
student so chooses, was
leading narrowly over the
PACE Committee Plan, which
would allow students to have
the $3.50 returned only if they
specifically requested.
The Joint Treaty of Peace,
oetween the people of the
United States and the people
of South Vietnam and North
Vietnam was approved.
The treaty, which is being
voted on and generally
approved in university spring
student elections around the
country, has no official affect
nor binds ASUN or university
students to any action. Briefly,
it calls for an end to the
Vietnam War as soon as
possible.

The Graduate Student
Association has requested that
all university departmental
GSA's elect new

University-wide GSA.
These new representatives
should be graduate students
who will return to the
University next fall. Names of
new representatives should be
sent to the graduate office so
that they may be informed of
