to general file by Sen. Harold
Simpson so that it could be
amended to eliminate
pro-rating of payments.
Pro-rating is the process of
equalizing the payments
according to need and other
factors.
Under the current Exon
budget, pro-rating would mean
no family would receive
maximum payments
authorized by LB 639.
Simpson's motion barely
passed, 25-21. The bill was
then amended to eliminate the
process of pro-rating by 26-20,
placed once again on select file
and then advanced.
