ACCORDING TO the USNSA pamplet, the treaty will be
submitted to a wide range of schools, groups, and
organizations for their ratification.
"In addition," USNSA continued, "both official and
unofficial groups and bodies are encouraged to append their
own statements of the methods by which they intend to try to '
implement or enforce the treaty so that it will become
necessary for the U.S. Congress and the Nixon Administration
to follow the lead of the people ir making it a reality.
In related business, Sen. Bruce Wimmer introduced a
resolution calling for a student vote on whether or not the
University's affilition with USNSA should be continued.
WIMMER SAID student opinion on USNSA should be assessed
in light of the organizations involvement in last year's strike
and the treaty. The Senate refused to vote on the resolution
Wednesday but it will be considered at next week's meeting.
ASUN also voted to put the PACE issue on the ballot.
Voters will able to choose between the PACE Committee plan
(in which money is refundable after payment) and the
Regents Committee plan (in which money is deductable from
the tuition payment).
The Senate also decided to ask University food services to
buy only United Farm Workers of California lettuce. The
action is a support of a nationwide boycott called by Cesar
Chavez.
ON BEHALF OF off-campus students ASUN voted to
lobby in support of LB 902 and LB 898. The bills relate to
selection of city housing Housing Authorities.
In other business, ASUN approved the constitutions of
the University Women's Action Group, the Institute for
Political Analysis, and the Student's International Mcdition
Society of the University of Nebraska. The Senate also approved
Rav Bamdad as new senator from Engineering and
Architecture .
