    Filing deadline nears
for ASUN candidates

Student government
elections are right around the
corner, so it's time for political
hopefuls to hegin filing for the
campaign.
Any full-time University
student in good standing can
run for ASUN President, First
and Second Vice Presidents, a
senate post, or a position on a
college advisory board.
Individuals may tile for
positions on the April 7 ballot
from March 5 until 4 p.m.,
March 12. Candidates desiring
to form parties for the election
must file between March 9 and
March 16 at 4 p.m.
No filing fee is required but
all candidates for executive
postions must present a
petition signed by 35 students
with their I.D. numbers
included. Applicants for
advisory boards and senate
posts must have 35 signatures
from students in their college.
This year's apportionment
calls for the usual 35 senate
seats, including: four each
from Agriculture and Home
Economics, Business
Administration, and
Engineering and Architecture;
eight from Arts and Sciences;
eight from Teachers College;
and seven representatives from
Graduate and Professional.
Graduate and Professional
has gained two additional seats
this year, reflecting its
increased portion of the
student body. Agriculture and
Home Economics and the
Business Administration
College each lost one senate
post.
Executive candidates must
spend no more than 50 dollars
on their campaigns while
senatorial and advisory board
candidates are limited to $35
each. Application forms and

Commission in the ASUN
office, room 334 of the Union.

Jazz, Java adds
Sunday program
Granny's Truck Stop will be
the first group to appear on
Sunday in the expanded Jazz
and Java program.
Under the new format, Jazz
and Java will be held every
Friday at 3:30 p.m. and every
Sunday at 7:30 p.m. in the
south Union.
