Corehnskers ran for I7t fa win Nebraska handed Joe Cipriano his second winningest season as a Cornhusker coach with an 87-71 win over Kansas State at the Coliseum Tuesday night. And the win, Nebraska's 17th of the season, was in the same fashion that Cipriano's 1965-66 club rattled off a 20-5 mark. The Huskers were running. "The running game helped us quite a little," said Cipriano. "It changed the tempo of the game." The Huskers started their running midway through the first half and took a 45-35 halftime lead. But in the second half, Nebraska blended its board strength with its running and took complete control of the game. Nebraska's Chuck Jura, who scored 12 points in the second half, tallied the first eight Husker points in the last 20 minutes and Nebraska took a big 53-39 cushion- Jura. . .battles Bob Zender on boards.
