He noted that the president must be a student representative to the faculty, administration, the Board of Regents and the Legislatrue. "He must also provide leader ship. Accomplishing goals is a team effort, ' but some one must spearheadthe movements," he remarked. "I am happy I was elected," Tiwald said, "but more im portantly I'm glad so many University Coalition members were elected. A voting turnout of less than 2,500 elected Steve Tiwald as the sixth ASUN president. Unofficial returns give Tiwald 906 votes, 103 more than his nearest competitor, Ken Wald. Bob Pfeiffer of the Service Party was elected first vice president and Mark Theisen of the University Coalition cap tured the second vice president position.
