"Serendipity 70" is the theme
of the annual home economics
career day for high school stu
dents which will be held Sat
urday on East Campus.
"We hope girls will discover
the excitement and opportuni
ties available through home
economics," according to Janet
Kuchera, student chairman.
The theme "Serendipity" is
taken from an Persian folk tale
about three princes who made
a happy, valuable discovery
"and this is what we hope Ne
braska girls will do on Hos
pitality Day," she said.
Career day is offered to pro
vide high school girls with an
opportunity to learn about
home economics as a profes
sion. Home economics majors are
planning exhibits in food and
nutrition; textiles, clothing and
design; human development
and management and home

ASUN Constitution concerning
the ASUN Senate:
A. To strike part C. Article VII, Section
1., which reads "To anact regulations,
ordinances, statements of policy, and
other legislation of the Association by
simple malority, provided that at least
two-thirds (2-3) majority it the members
re present and voting."
B. To add new part C, Article VII,
Section 1., to read: "To enact regulations,
ordinances, statements of policy, and
other legislation of the Association by
simple majority of those voting quorum
being present."
II.
A. To strike part F., Article VII, Section
1., which reads "To adopt recommenda
tions concerning affairs wMch effect the
University at large by simple majority,
provided that at least two-thirds (2-3) of
the members vote, and io present these
recommendations to the University of
ficial concerned."
III.
A. To add a part P. to Article VII, Sec
tlon 1., to read: "A quorum shall be three
fifths (3-5) of the ntlre voting mem
bership." B. To add a part Q. to Article VII., Sec
tion 1 to read: "In all articles of the
ASUN Constitution he words 'entire
voting membership' hall mean those

Economics Advisory Baard Constitu
tion: To add subdivision A to Section 3 of
Article III concerning membership which
will read as follows: "If the elected
representative from Home Economics
Education is In her professional semester
during her term of office, she may appoint
with the approval of the board, another
Home Economics Education malor to
serve as a substitute. This appointed
member would serve as a I'alson between
the elected member, the board and the
Home Economics Education rnalors.'
(The proposed Home Economics Ad
visory Board amendment to be ratified
must be approved by a malority ote of
the total enrollment in the School of Home
Economics with at least f .Irty percent of
the eligible students voting or by the af
firmative vote of fifteen per cent of the
eligible voters when less han thirty per
cent of the eligible students vote.)

state convention
About 15 students and faculty
members from the University
of Nebraska are expected to
attend the State Young Demo
crats' Convention, according
to Mike Jacobs, YD president.
The annual convention will be
held in Grand Island April 17-19
at the Hotel Yancey, Jacobs
said.
National President of the
Young Democratic Clubs ol
America David Sternoff, will
deliver the keynote address.
After two days of conven
tion work, the delegates plan
to reassemble to decide which
Democratic candidates to en
dorse before the primary contest.
