Western Days will begin with a free concert at the East Campus Union auditorium, April 10, at 8 p.m., featuring The Original Cast ("One Tin Soldier"). On Monday, April 13, Mel Steen, director of the State Game Commission, will speak In the East Union auditorium at 2 p.m.. At 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15, Marvin Kivett, director of the Nebraska State Historical Society will speak in Burr Hall. Western films will also be shown In the East Union during the morning on both of these days. The University Round-up, formerly the All-Ag Picnic, will be held Tuesday, April 14, at 3:30 p.m. in the tractor testing area north of the East Union. Teams from different living units and student organiza tions will participate in a variety of western games including a "bucking barrel," a fast draw contest, and a greased pig contest. The game awards and trophies will be presented at a barbecue, open to all faculty and students, at 5:30 p.m. Various folk singing groups will perform during the Bar-B-Que, followed by a free street dance with Larry B and Blockbusters from 7 to 9 p.m. in front of the East Union. Western Days will continue into the second week-end with the annual Block and Bridle Club Quarter Horse Show April 16 at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. April 17 at the State Fairgrounds Coliseum. On April 19 at 8 a.m., the Club is sponsoring its first Appaloosa show also at the Fairgrounds Coliseum. The Rodeo Club's University Rodeo will be held April 17-18 at the Fairgrounds.
