.'I chose speech pathology
because I wanted to help peo
ple," Mrs. Wilson said. "When
I was lust teaching others to do
therapy, I found that I had no
time for the work myself."
Judy Coon, a graduate stu
dent in speech pathology, is
also working in the program.
She tries to stimulate the use oi
language through music.
'I was a music major and
hated to leave it," Miss Coon
said. "Then I discovered that
speech therapy and music can
work well together."
Through the use of simple
vocabulary songs, she gets the
four children in her group to
respond.
She said that the group is
now working with songs about
life on the farm. Most of the
children can now respond with
"cow" and "moo", she add
ed. "I just love the work," Miss
Coon said. "It's a very personal
thing. At the least little
response from a child I can
really get excited."

public lecture by Dr. J. Warren Nystrom, at 8 p.m. March
9 in Burnett Hall.
Nystrom received his Ph.D. in geography from Clark
University, and for nine years served as chairman of the'
