The exhibit Is judged to determine if the student is ready to receive his degree. "the main difference between teaching here and in England is that here I only have the students for a few hours each week. At Man chester I worked with a tutorial group of 15 students for an en tire year," he said. He feels the two systems turn out graduate students of about equal quality. However, more students drop out of the American program because they have not had the two-year pre-degree program to help them decide on their field of study, he said. Gen. Hester opposes war An army general who op poses the Vietnam War will be epeaking at the Nebraska Union Feb. 18, according to Mike Shonsey, coordinator of Nebraskans for Peace. "Gen. Hugh B. Hester fears that the President has closed the door to all honest nego tiations," Shonsey said. "The general also believes there is great danger of an other world war developing as a result of the Vietnam con flict," Shonsey said. . Hester is also on record for denouncing the Joseph McCarthy-like tactics of Vice President Agnew. Failure to keep campaign promises of ending the war and abolishing military con scription have caused the gen eral to speak out against Nix on, Shonsey added. Ziiik backers to rally Friday An anti-draft rally has been scheduled for 1 p.m., Friday, on the north steps of the Lincoln Post Office to demonstrate support for Larry Zink, who will be sen tenced in Federal Court Friday for destroying his draft card. Zink burned his draft card at a Hyde Park session in the Nebraska Union lounge last year. A meeting will be held Wednesday evening to complete plans for the rally, according to Steve Tiwald, chairman of the Nebraska Moratorium Committee. "We're planning the rally to demonstrate our support for Larry Zink," Tiwald said. "But the primary purpose of the rally is to make the anti-war senti ment visible to the people of Lincoln and the state of Nebraska." "I hope the demonstration will create awareness in the state that there are people, even in Nebraska, who are going to Jail and going to Canada in opposition to the war. "The average Nebraskan thinks things like this only happen on the coast, Zink continued. "We want the public to know that ordinary, average students and not just the radicals are opposed to the war." Thursday, members of the Moratorium will be handing out peace literature downtown to advertise the rally. Plans were made to mail draft in formation to all men in the dormitories, in addition to having an anti-draft speaker program instigated for the dorms. Programs aimed at reaching local high school students are also in the planning stages, Tiwald said. As a part of the national Moratorium activities, a "we won't go" petition is being circulated at a Union booth. Those signing the document say they will refuse to serve in the military if inducted. f(mn fcffcr; Stereo headphone gives you ultimate stereo separation, fabulous sound, and it's pri vate.
