Schmid' and Sefzik were double winners for coach John ReK Schm'd' placed first in the 200-vard individual medley a-d Sefz!k won the 1000-yard freestyle in addition to their record seeing performances. Dave Backer also was a d u' le winner, sweeping the 100 and 290-yard freestyles. THE HUSKERS close out their dual season Saturday agains: defending Big Eight champion Kansas at Lawrence. H I Huskers9 Hawkins sets record NU trackmen bomb CU The Nebraska track team kept its perfect dual meet record intact, defeat ing Colorado, 78Ms43, Saturday afternoon at Boulder. The Huskers have won all three duals this season by at least 30 points. The meet's top performance was turned in by NU freshman Jim Hawkins. The former Omaha North standout set a meet record In the 1000-yard run with a 2:13.5 mark. It was the first time Hawkins had ever competed in the event, placing him among the Big Eight leaders. NU's mile relay team shat tered the meet record with a 3:18.8 clocking. The Huskers previous best time this season had been 3:21.9. DON QUARRIE tied the meet record in the 60-yard dash with a :06.1 clocking. Randy Butts gained his se cond sweep of the season in the hurdles, taking the 60-yard highs in :07.6 and the 60-yard lows in .08.9. The Nebraska wrestling team rebounded to salvage a 15-15 tie to Colorado Saturday after noon after dropping a narrow 17-15 decision at Wyoming Fri day night ffT"'-a-Mniriiij; ft vm,t . NEBRASKA'S FRESHMAN basketball team pushed its season record to 7-2 with a 70-51 win over the Iowa State frosh. The Cyclone frosh defeated the Huskers earlier in the season, 73-61. Tony Riehl paced the frosh In scoring with 18 points. Tom Gregory (12), Randy Watts (12), and Ambrose Ratcliff (11) also were in double figures.
