Students9 demands are Greek to Spiro "Agnew has been called the noblest Greek of them all," John M. Swomley said at Mon day's pre-demonstration rally, "but you just don't compare Spiro to great Intellects like Socrates." Swomley, a professor of Christian ethics at St. Paul School of Theology in Kansas City, Mo., charged that Agnew has a "typical totalitarian mind." Agnew is enraged by student protests, Swomley told the group of about 500 University students. "Our Vice President, when he was governor of Maryland, had 200 college students jailed for submitting a list of grievances about roaches in their food and plaster falling from the ceilings of their classrooms," Swomley said. Swomley said Americans must learn to penetrate the administration's rhetoric about freedom and peace. "Behind this rhetoric is the reality of continued war," Swomley continued. The resolution, presented by Edwin Halfar, chairman of the mathematics department, said an additional game would "ex ploit" members of the football team. It was defeated 34-41. The Faculty Senate should consider the scholastic pro blems and the increased injury risk that an expanded football season could pose, Halfar said. If approved by the Board of Regents, the game would be played on Sept. 12 against Wake Forest University in LOOK'S WHO'S COMIN'll WED., FEB. 18 7:30 P.M rrtfTPrrrTiTfi WfE'S THff BP2 rvijl$Nv Japan and The Keepsake engagement diamond is PLEASE t& wSmmmmlK flawless with superior color and cut. of 'em all i f .ffSfcfSnrasv o ss , , SO DON'T M V AUTIFOL LAOV IN VOUf) XBXHIBITIONI ..,, , Mfr H -AND SO WILL VOUII V' 'W.-V 7 .-- .
