Coach Frank Sevigne's unit defeated Kansas State, 76-46, in a dual meet Friday night at Manhattan, giving the Huskers a 2-0 dual record. TOP PERFORMANCES at Kansas State were recorded by Greg Carlberg in the mile (4:11.2) and Don Quarrie in the 60-yard dash (:06.1). Quarrie will face Southern Illinois' Ivory Crockett for the second time. Crockett edged Quarrie nine days ago in a dual at Memorial Stadium. Ex-Husker Charlie Greene also has indicated he may com pete in the Omaha sprint field, but his entry is unconfirmed. Nebraska Tankers Upset Oklahoma The Nebraska swimming team captured its first win in history over Oklahoma Saturday afternoon, 58-46, in the Coliseum pool. Coach John Reta's tankers needed the 400-yard freestyle relay to assure the victory and Dave Backer, Mark Majetich, Steve Nootz, and Spencer Luedke responded with a new pool record (3:20.3) for the event. George Sefzik also shattered a pool record in the 500-yard freestyle (5:09.0). Sefzik and Backer were double winners. NUS WRESTLERS smashed Ft. Hays State at Hays, Kan. Saturday night, 29-3, to push their record to 3-4. Jim Haug recorded the only pin for the Huskers in the 177 pound division. Powerful Cyclone Gymnasts Win The Nebraska gymnastics team fell to powerful Iowa State, 161.15 to 125.20, Saturday afternoon. Dave Butzman won four events for the Cyclones. The Cyclones finished third In NCAA competition last year and are expected to challenge for the top spot again this year.
