The Cornhuskers' leading scorer for the last two seasons, junior guard Marvin Stewart from Chicago, 111., is expected to play next season, if he clears the scholastic hurdle by this semester or by this summer. Akron, Ohio, senior Jim Brooks' eligibility expired with his dismissal. The other scholastic casualtiy, junior guard Cliff Moller, reputedly the Huskers top defensive player, left school. Eight Husker Gritlders Drafted All Big Eight Conference defensive middle guard Ken Geddes and tight end Jim McFarland both were selected in the fifth round. Geddes went to the Detroit Lions and McFarland to the St. Louis Cardinals. Another All Big Eight Husker, defensive back Dana Stephenson, was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the eighth round, and defensive end Mike Wynn went in the same round to the Oakland Raiders. Offensive end Frank Patrick was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the 10th round, and defensive tackle Bob Liggett was acquired by the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs in the 15th round.
