provide a pleasant "dial-in" for
viewers this week when they tune in
the Nebraska Educational Television
Network.
A widely-acclaimed string
ensemble, "The Lenox Quartet," pro
vides classical musical relaxation
tonight at 8 p.m.
Since its formation in 1958 at the
Berkshire Music Center in
Tanglewood, the quartet has appeared
at the Festival of Two Worlds at
Spoleto, the Stanford Festival the
Ravinia Festival, and the Aspen
Festival. When not on tour the quartet
members are artists-in-residence at
Grinnell College, Iowa. .
"Is the Pepsi Generation Going to
' Pot'" The high school set comments
on 'that question on "The David
Susskind Show" at 10 p.m. tonight
Suburban high school students from
Connecticut and New York ranging
in age from 15 to 17, talk about their
bad press. They offer candid opinions
on drugs, sexual permissiveness
among teenagers and standards of
morality in general. They also discuss
the war and the draft. The program
will be seen in color.
"Noise- The New Pollutant" will
be discussed on SPECTRUM Wed
nesday, July 23 at 7 p.m. A report
is made on the rising level of noise
in American society and the adverse
effects on hearing ability. Dr. Vern
O Knudsen, renowned acoustical
physicist and a self-proclaimed
"crusader against noise," appears on
the program.
Later at 9 p.m., "Fasten Your Seat
Belts" provides a comprehensive
report on the nation's snarled airports
and hazard-ridden skies, as air traffic
grows disproportionately with existing
facilities.
Antique car enthusiasts will want
to be watching Thursday, July 24 at
6:30 p.m. when Robert Lee hosts a
PROFILE program entitled "Wheeled
Classics." The program features six
men and a woman who display cars
they found and restored to factory
condition.
Members of the San Diego region
Horseless Carriage Club and Antique
Automobile Club discuss costs and
methods of auto restoration.
Three outstanding theatrical
personalities, Carol Lawrence,
Ricardo Montalban and Oscar
Homolka, Star in "Rashomon" on
THE PLAY OF THE WEEK, Friday,
July 25 at 8 p.m. The play is based
on a 1,000 year old Japanese fable.
The program viewer is askad to
decide which of three versions of an
officer's death constitutes the truth.
Later that same evening at 10:30
pm. 'NET PLAYHOUSE presents
"The Seekers: The Idealists." The
play is the second in a dramatic
trilogy written by Ken Taylor on the
theme of man and his beliefs.
"The Idealists" centers on an
idealistic young French captain at the
time of the French Revolution who
is in conflict about his orders. Michael
Bryant stars in all three plays.
Taylor is a well-known British
television and screen writer. He won
the British Television Guild Writer of
the Year Award and the
Screenwriter's Guild Best Original
Teleplay Award for his television
drama "The Devil and John
Brown."
