People, problems and pure
entertainment will pull
discriminating television
viewers to Nebraska Educa-
tional Television Network
programs this week.
A special television show on
the life and times of Chief
Justice Earl Warm of the
U.S. Supreme Court will be
aired in color Thursday, July
3, at 9 p.m. Distinguished
legal analysts, political allies
and critics will review the
influence of Earl Warren on
the Supreme Court and
American society.
Justice Warren's retirement
signifies "the end of an era in
American history," according
to Jim Karayn, National
ducational Television pro
ducer of the show. Highlights
of this era will dominate the
90-minute special program.
Tonight at 8 p.m., NET
FESTIVAL features "Carlos
Chavez," a portrait of the
Mexican composer and con
ductor. This hour-long pro
gram was filmed during a
rehearsal of the San Diego
Svmphony when Chavez was
visiting conductor; at his
Mexico City home; and at
Dartmouth College during a
rehearsal for the premiere of
one of his works.
The NET production,
SPECTRUM, visits a
California research institute
